About Pastime Arcade
Pastime Arcade is a small, independent website of free browser games and quick tests: puzzles such as Sudoku and word search, board and dice games such as Reversi and Farkle, and checks for your mouse, keyboard and microphone. It went online in September 2026 and is run by one developer, not a game company or a media group.
How the games are made
- Everything runs in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
- Rules come from published sources, and where a game has several rule sets, its page says which one it uses.
- The numbers on the pages, such as odds, scores and averages, are worked out by the same code that runs the game, not copied from elsewhere. When the Shut the Box strategy page gives the chance of shutting the box, that figure comes from an exact calculation over every possible game.
- Where a game has computer levels, each level is played against the one below it before it goes live, so Hard really is harder than Medium.
- The site is built with the help of AI coding tools. Every game is tested in code and by playing it, and facts are checked against their sources, before a page is published.
Your data
Games save your settings, progress and scores in your own browser, and nothing you type into a tool is sent anywhere. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not track individual visitors. The privacy page has the details.
Names and trademarks
Some games are best known by a brand name, such as Connect 4 or Othello. Those names are trademarks of their owners. The versions here use the traditional names, Four in a Row and Reversi, and have no connection with those companies.
